Black figured Hydria
Black figured hydria (3 hand base, the two side hands are for carrying the pot and the single one for serving water) 4th Century BC. The vase is decorated with scenes from the Trojan war. We see the victory of Achilles over Hector (who is depicted very small in order to point out Achilles strength). By the side, Priamos is kneeling, probably overwhelmed by the loss of his son, and Athena (goddess of wisdom) is on the other side of the frame to indicate that the Greeks had the support of the Gods. The pots is very delicately made both in detail and decoration. Handmade and handpainted in our workshop with the ancient technique of reduction.
